Just Acia
Just Acia is situated throughout Dhoby X-Change (Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station) where you will see islands of tables lining up from one end to the other. It’s a walkthrough restaurant as passersby can simply walk through the entire restaurant like a mini mall as the place is also surrounded by other small shops such as cake stalls, tour agent customer service stalls, clothes stalls and gift stalls. The place gets very busy during lunch hour with people buzzing through the area, which can be quite overwhelming at times. But I certainly didn’t mind the busyness going on around me when the food arrived – It was splendid!

Like what I ordered - Salmon Teriyaki & Deep Fried Chicken Meal Set for only $15.90, which is affordable if you don't convert to Malaysia Ringgit. When you are dining or spending in Singapore, you are not encouraged to convert every single cent you use. Otherwise you will be spending nothing at all. Looking from the Singaporeans' point of view, dining at their island certainly is an affordable affair. You can't get salmon and chicken meat for less than RM15 here, not to forget the additional miso soup, kimchi and rice throw-in.
The Salmon Teriyaki was awesome. Even my mom who doesn't really fancy salmon said that she loved the dish very much. The fish was not fishy or hard. It was soft and delicate to the tongue. And the teriyaki sauce was juts perfect to go with it. A very nice combination. I like!
Here's the best part of the entire deal: All set meals come with free flow of drinks and ice-creams. It means free flow of coffee, tea, nescafe, coke, iced lemon tea, iced peach tea, sprite, root beer, etc. The only non-convenient is having to get the drinks yourself. When there are a lot of people lining up to fill their mugs, it's no longer fun to get your drinks. It makes me feel like a small kid lining up for food at the canteen in school.
Free flow of ice-creams is the best though. There are five flavour choices for you to pick from - coffee, mango, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. For a person who doesn't enjoy mango flavoured ice-cream, theirs certain work magic! The rich smooth taste of mango simply oozes out with each spoon and I ended up having 4 scoops of those plus another 6 scoop of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Mom had coffee ice-cream in her coffee and it was awesome!
Besides the set meals, we also ordered Fukien Prawn Roll ($3.80 - $5.50) as a side dish. It was quite delicious. I would like to try out Xian Spinach Tofu and Just's Chicken Wings the next time I visit. The dishes looked really yummy when served to the table next to ours. We also had the chance to taste the Chawan Mushi as one of our orders were delayed. So it was an apology token to us. The Chawan Mushi was smooth and delicious, a definite must-have for all.
After many scoops of ice-creams and many more glasses of coffee, tea and soft drinks, we finally paid the bill and left. And I told myself as I walked off, "I would be back here one day." If you happen to be in Singapore, do stop by at Dhoby Ghaut MRT for an enjoyable meal. I am sure you will not be disappointed with Just Acia as they serve noodles, dumplings and soups too.
