Ip Man

Pronounced as 'Eep Mun' and not IP Man, or as my brother would say, "Look, Hollywood came out with Batman, Superman, Spiderman... and Hong Kong doesn't want to lose. So they come out with IpMan!" The title doesn't entice me at all! But after watching the first fifteen minutes, I've got to say that this is one fabulous movie!

Digging into the underlying issues of human nature, Ip Man makes a deep impression with its dynamic characters. For example, the relationship between Grand Kungfu Master with his family. Ip Man is the top martial art master in the town but he couldn't publicly display his skills because his wife does not permit it. She prefers him to stay at home and spend more time with her and his son. So he invites people to his house to discuss and talk about martial art, which she dislikes as well.

Then war takes place and their land is ruled over by the Japanese. It's either making a living out of martial arts, or dying of hunger. What would he do? Along with this conflict, there are many other conflicts that highlights the dilemma of living as human beings. Additionally, the graphic effects and cinemagraphy is one thing to look out for when you watch this movie.
