21
Seldom do I pick up a movie with such Vegas visual because it reminds me so much of Ocean Thirteen (which is only good because there are handsome guys starring in it). After a browse at its synopsis, I thought 21 has an interesting plot and decided to give it a shot.
Ben Campbell is a genius in maths and has what it takes to go to Harvard. The only problem is he could not afford the 300k required to further his education. While he is trying to figure out a way to make his way to Harvard, a professor spotted his intelligence and adopted him into a whole new world of Vegas. He taught Ben how to win loads of money with his intelligence and he soon made enough to support his education in Harvard. Now that he has the money to get what he wants, would he stop like he claimed he would?
21 has a very strong message that may engage the young adults. It extracts the core elements of the young adult life and manifests them into various possibilities which the young ones themselves fail to see at first glance. It teaches them to have hope when there seems to be no hope. It reminds them that nothing is impossible if they are bold enough to take the first step. It guides them into making the right decision even if it means not having the best for themselves. 21 is a movie that teaches you about the element of life so much so that you could not be bothered by how normal the cinematography is. I expected something more visual.
