Little Manhattan

This is a heartwarming love story of an eleven year old boy, Gabe, who has fallen in love with his schoolmate. Everything about him falling in love is so sweet and innocent that I am reminded of how beautiful love can be for anyone and everyone, even if you're just a kid. The way he looks into her eyes, how he knocks against the glass door because he was looking at her and not where he was walking, the way he tries to hold her hand and acts normal in her presence - these are the evidence of love which are rarely found in our current modern age; Something which we should really appreciate when we fall in love.

Little Manhattan highlights the romantic journey of Gabe who takes up karate lessons because the school bully is always at his heels. In the class, he meets his childhood friend, Rosemary, and was delighted as he wouldn't be alone. As time passes by, he begins to see her as a girl; not the kid whom he was attached with when he was much younger. He sees her as a wonderful being - angelic and beautiful. He doesn't know it is LOVE but he does know that he wouldn't let her go no matter what. So when athletic boy, Tim Staples, is paired with Rosemary during training practice, Gabe knew that he has to do something to protect the love he has for her.

What exactly can an eleven year old boy do for love? Much more than the things we, adults, do nowadays for our loved ones. The innocence of a child can maximise the meaning of love. And that's exactly what this movie is all about. Go watch it, kids!
