One Fine Day

I've always enjoyed Mary Poppins when I was growing up because it tickles all my funny bones even when my heart is overwhelmed with the heavy weight of love expressed through the movie. It's surprising that I felt the same way as I watched One Fine Day on my couch tonight. I wanted to watch it because Michelle Pfeiffer is the lead actress. I have always loved her acting. Today, I fell in love with her pretty face. And also the special chemistry she seemed to share with (handsome young) George Clooney on the screen. They were quite a charming couple. Not to forget the cute boy, Alex D. Linz, whom I have always enjoyed watching on in Home Alone 3. I call him the cheeky cute boy.

One Fine Day is the story of two single parents who are struggling between being at the top of their career game and their devotion to their children. The most challenging day came when the kids missed their school trip and they are left without child care. Jack (starring George Clooney) suggested that they help one another out but Melanie (starring Michelle Pfeiffer) was stubborn and refused to let her son be under the care of the cocky journalist. She is so used to being independent and relying only on herself when it comes to living that she reluctantly brought her son to work for the day. But he turned her career into a disaster minutes after they arrived at her office. Left without choice, she made a pact with Jack to take turns to take care of the kids throughout the day.

While it may seems like an one-day story of ordinary people, One Fine Day was brilliantly presented to remind us that ordinary people do lead extraordinary life. And ordinary people do fall in love. Weaved together with funny moments, touching scenes and heartwarming soundtracks, this is one story I would recommend to families and couples. May it reminds you the richness of love and togetherness as it has reminded me to appreciate the loved ones around me. Go on, have a One Fine Day.
