Me and Mr Darcy

Book Title: Me and Mr Darcy
Author: Alexandra Potter
Amount of Pages: 340

First of, I have not watched the movie Pride and Prejudice which is the inspiration behind this book. Secondly, the writing style is not my cup of coffee - I had a tough time reading and enjoying the story because the writing is too tacky. Thirdly, I didn't think Spike, the guy whom the main character fell in love with at the end, is handsome or attractive at all.

Me and Mr Darcy is a love story that spells the ideal perfect boyfriend in every woman's dream. And in their dreams, he would remain. No matter how hard they try to find their Mr Darcy, he could never be found because he is too perfect. So when Emily Albright met with the actual Mr Darcy during her literature tour in England, she was delighted. So delighted that everything seemed like a dream, and a dream it was.

On the trip with the rest of the pack, a young man named Spike tries his best to find out why women love Mr Darcy. He intends to complete his article with strong basis that Mr Darcy is not the closest thing to an ideal lover. However, every woman he approaches, he received wonderful praise of the fictional character. Could he be wrong?

Intertwined into the main plot are other interesting bits such as friendship, relationship, the old and young, trust and honesty. Thank god for these little mini plots because the story would be such a bore without them. I struggled reading through the pages (which I don't usually do) and I don't think I would pick up another Alexandra Potter's book for the next few months. I need a break from her writing style.

Only recommended to those who appreciate a main character that is so full of herself.
