Shutter (Thai)
Finally gotten around to watch Thai award-winning movie SHUTTER. The English version has just been released in the cinema but I am not sure if it is as good as the original Thai version. Been wanting to watch it for ages.
The story begins with Thun (starred by Ananda Everingham) and his girlfriend, Jane, knocking down a woman on the street while driving home from a party one night. Jane was shocked by the accident and was about to get down the car to check the woman when Thun stopped her. He said that they should leave because he thinks she is dead.
After that incident, Thun who works as a photographer discovers new images in the photographs he takes. A mysterious shadow appears in every photo and he blames it on the photo shop for the bad photo development. Then he realises that the shadow resembles the face of the woman they knocked down in the accident.
Weird things begin to take place later on. Jane keeps insisting that they should find out what really took place so that they would not be disturbed by the spirit. Thun doesn't like the idea but tags along anyway. Together, they discover so much more about the spirit, the past and who has been sticking next to Thun all these while.
I really love the story idea. It's really original and realistic. I'm sure some of the audience suffer from camera-fear after watching this movie. Imagine looking through the camera lense and seeing a ghost... wow! Brilliant idea. Totally kick-ass!
