Citizen Dog
Yuck! That's the photo (above) I had in mind for this review. In Citizen Dog, a Thai film, there's this weird character that loves to lick things with his tongue. He licks the window, door, cupboard, TV set, radio, books, shelves even shoes and faces. Don't worry, he is not the main character, just a sidekick. But it's entertaining to watch him because he seems unique.
Citizen Dog is shot in bright vibrant colours that would make your eyes blink throughout the entire movie. Directed by Wisit Sasanatieng, this movie is quite quirky. It tells of a young man who decides to go to Bangkok to start a working career. His grandmother warns him that if he does so, he would grow a tail. Ignoring her warning, he arrives at Bangkok and fall head-over-heels with a maid girl.
There are a lot of unusual scenes in this movie which include human beings talking with teddy bears, pink helmets falling from the sky, plastic bottle crazy collection, etc. It all seems too weird for me and I failed to grasp the storyline, if there was any. Strong recommended to art students, but not applicable to audience who are looking for something more commercial.
