In Her Shoes

Book Title: In Her Shoes

Author: Jennifer Weiner
Amount of Pages: 421

Didn't watch the movie; Didn't know about the book or story until I found the novel for sale at Popular Bookstore. I got it for only RM20, a very good deal indeed. Though I've gotta say that I really hated Cameron Diaz on the front cover - spoiling my imagination of the character in the book. Really couldn't imagine her as one of the main character of the story.

In Her Shoes is a novel about the special bond shared between two sisters: Maggie and Rose. Both characters are well crafted to bring out a unique blend of beauty and weight, wealth and health, appearance and personality. You'll get the story from both side of a coin about how the beautiful sexy girls think and how the slightly oversized curvier body girls think. Both characters are really lovable.

Maggie is a girl with learning disability but it doesn't bother her (or at least she tries not to let it bother her) as she aims to achieve stardom in Hollywood. But it doesn't come easy. When you can't read and write at the normal speed that others do, it affects your journey in achieving your dreams. Because of this, she is constantly in need of someone to rescue her from the mess she makes. And that someone happens to be her sister, Rose.

Rose is the one who has been there for Maggie since they lost their mother to a car accident. She is the successful lawyer, the genius student, the career woman who earns more than enough to feed herself and lead a Gucci-Prada lifestyle. But that doesn't mean she doesn't have insecurities.

Capture the love-hate relationship between Rose and Maggie in this novel. It's a really intriguing bond indeed. Highly recommended to all!
