Grip
Book title: Grip
Author: David McKeowen
Amount of pages: 500
My sister said the front cover looks great and so I bought the book. The first few chapters started off okay. But slowly, it became a drag to read and I almost gave up half way.
This story revolves around the lives of five ordinary human beings. And that itself makes it harder to read because all five are main characters in the book. Each with their own dreams, own thinking, own decision and own ways. And sometimes, I get lost in the problems each of them are facing because of the connection and non-connection of each case.
However, I do like the way the character 'Virginia' is being moulded. The author made her sounds so beautiful, so elegant, so in control of her life, so attractive and charming at the same time. At least the author builds credible characters - otherwise the book will be a goner.

But Francis Carroll has put everything he has into a project that will finally bring him the success he craves. He simply cannot afford to help his son. And it's no good asking his ambitious new wife, Rachel. She wants a baby—while James's dangerously sexy first wife just wants him back. But something's got to give….Written with a sharp eye for the details of human behavior, this is a stunning debut by a British MP and former diplomat who writes as David McKeowen. A taut thriller, shortlisted for the CWA John Creasey Memorial Dagger for Best Debut Crime Novel of the Year.
