The Warlord
Not everyone would enjoy The Warlords (previously known as The Blood Brother) but I certainly did because the cinemagraphy was more captivating than the story itself. And the story is one that is rich with culture, values and essence. It's almost as real as one can get from the life of a army general back in the 1870s.
Starring Andy Lau, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro, The Warlords is a story about three sworn brothers who are forced to go against one another when the reality of war ceases upon them. With each coming victory in the battlefield, they discover something new about one another and start questioning if any one of them are true to their friendship afterall.
This story is presented in a documentary style in which Takeshi Kaneshiro fills in as the narrator. He tells this story from his point of view as we ride along in the journey from his eyes. We learn more of the other characters through his perception, it's almost like living his character throughout the entire movie. That's what make this movie special; the approach of it.
A must watch for all action-movie lovers... and audience who enjoy a taste of war aftermath.
