Step of Dance
Local drama -The English productions are improving lots, but the Chinese productions I am not too sure. It seems to be falling from watchable level to the deep blue sea. Step of Dance is very disappointing in terms of acting skills, storyline and cinematography. In short, it's a waste of time. I am only watching because Song Zi Jie (starred by i-don't-know-his-name) is the most prominent character in the entire story and I just want to indulge in his happy-go-lucky personality.
Step of Dance is a story of four friends from various background and struggles in life who never give up on their dreams in dancing even though the world turns her back against them. They strive to give their best for their passion because it's the core of their soul. In the midst, they get caught up in triangle love affairs, challenging friendships and testing circumstances.
The story is very predictable from the start of the first episode. You can guess who goes with who, what the person would do next, the scenes that follow, etc. It's so predictable, it makes watching a worthless affair.
Dragging it deeper into the ground is the lack of good acting skills. The cast, in my opinion, failed to bring out the best of each character. Watching them on the screen proves that most Malaysian actors/actresses are more theater-oriented when it comes to acting. Perhaps they should try live-acting instead.
Overall, not a worthy drama to be watched. A waste of time, like totally! Even my mom dislikes it so much so she doesn't watch after the first episode. She said it is BO-RING!
