Ying Ye 3+1

Xia Tian, Jia Jiang, Fang Wei, Bulu all four kids who grew up on Westside Street together. They are currently studying in Ying Ye School where the bittersweet of their childhood days would be achieved. One month upon graduation, the gang had a fight with the Dinosaur gang in the school causing them the possibility of being expelled from school. While Xia Tian's dad tried to solve the matter, he lost his gun and was unable to retire as a police officer. The gang decided to help out by searching for the gun.

On the other hand, ex-convict Grey Wolf is on the loose. He has escaped from prison and is back for revenge against Xia Tian's dad. It turned out that there might be a connection between the missing gun and Grey Wolf. Thus, begin a thriller crime adventure between the gang as they try to sort out their life. While they are at it, they too discovered the love of their life.

Reason number one why I decided to watch Ying Ye 3+1: Because Ming Dao is acting in it!! I've been in love with him as an actor since I watched La robe de Mariee des cieux, in which he starred as Chen Hai Nuo. My sister kept saying that the co-star, Leon Jay Williams, for that show is much more handsome but I disagree. Ming Dao caught my heart with his acting skills and handsome face. He is really good looking.

Reason number two: There are other handsome guys too like Jason Hsu and Huang Zhi Wei. These two certainly have better builts compared to Ming Dao and they are handsome too.

Reason number three: Chen Qiao En acting as Xia Tian, she did a great job this time. I hated to watch her in Prince Turns To Frog, which she starred together with Ming Dao as well. She was annoying in that series. I've gotta say though, she plays the role of Xia Tian really well this time. I am actually impressed and inspired by her character.


Ying Ye 3+1 has a really captivating main plot. I love how the story goes. It's sort of predictable but at the same time not. For example, a spoiler bit, I could guess that Xia Tian is the daughter of the Grey Wolf even before the story was lead that way because if you think about her age and everything else, it makes sense. The unpredictable part: Later in the series you would realise that it was just a lie her father told. There are some other parts which are unpredictable as well, some small heartwarming parts where the reactions from the characters are totally unpredictable.

Most of all, I love the chemistry shared between the main characters. The way Xia Tian and Ah Jiang discover that they are in love with one another, how they overcome the hurdle of accepting one another as lovers instead of childhood friends, the way they express their love to one another - it's very intriguing indeed. Half way through the story, a rival turned up known as Brother Frog. Here's the point in which the hero Ah Jiang turned into a sissy. He becomes very childish in his thinking as he loses confidence in himself. Yet, it is at this point of the drama that LOVE is strongly reflected between Ah Jiang and Xia Tian. The way they look into each other's eyes, the way they can read each other's mind, the way they give up everything just to love one another - true love is impressed upon my heart when I see this couple being in love.

If you have forgotten what it feels like to be in love, Ying Ye 3+1 is a drama series you should watch because the characters inspire you to believe in the power of love. It also inspires you to believe in the power of friendship and family. You'll suddenly cherish the relationships you share with others. That's Ying Ye 3+1 for me.
