Stardust
From the popular book by Neil Gaiman, Stardust is a superb fantasy film. I don't mind watching it a couple more times because I am in love with the story line. It's imaginative and simple to follow, even the kids will enjoy the adventure.
Stardust brings you into a world filled with magic and wonders, in which witches and pirates exist to make the entire adventure a fulfilling one. The tale begins in a town in England where Stormhold, the magical land, is separated by a lengthy wall. There's a hole in the wall which enable people to pass through but no one should ever do that. So a man is appointed to guard the portal to Stormhold. He failed once and a human passed through. That's when the adventure began.
The King of Stormhold passed away without appointing a successor. He released a piece of jewel before he took his last breath proclaiming that whoever that restores the jewel will be the next king. The jewel hit the skies and came down as a falling star who turns out to be a girl named Yvaine (starred by Claire Danes). She has the jewel and does not understand the significant of it.
Yvaine is into much more trouble than she thought. The princes are hunting for her to claim the kingdom for themselves. The witches are running after her heart because it is believed that the heart of a star can restore youth. And a young man, Tristan (starred by Charlie Cox), is looking for the star so that he could bring it (her) home to prove his love to the woman he loves.
Michelle Pfeiffer stars as the leader witch and she is totally hot! I love her acting the most in this film. She is really good in bringing out the best of the character. She actually looks gorgeous even being an old and ugly witch. I think she is sexy.
Other amusing bits include the ghost troop of princes who are dead, the captain of the pirates who enjoys ballroom dancing, and the transformation of witches. This is a must-watch! So don't miss it!
