It Had To Be You

Karena Lam and Ekin Cheng starred in this slow moving romance film and watching became a dread - I am serious. It's awfully silence throughout the film with only occasional dialogue in quiet scenes. Not much of crowds or laughters. Very slow moving. Definitely a sleeper.

Jack (starred by Ekin Cheng) is a chef who is being two-timed by his girlfriend while Jill (starred by Karena Lam) is the restaurant manager who dates a playboy. Catch their fall-in-love story and you'll end up falling in love with both characters.

This is one of the film in which Ekin Cheng plays the non-playboy character. He is a little nerdy, introvert and brilliant looking in this film. His hair is dry and styled in a way which is seldom seen in other films. And he has a great sense of humour in the character. Full of surprises too. I love it that every time Ekin gets into the scene, he has this puppy love eyes that totally charms women.

I fell in love with Karena Lam in this film. I fell in love with the character which she was playing. I love the choice of clothes she has - collared jacket with a smart casual look. I love the way she does her hair - portrays her as a professional with elegance. I love the way she clings on to her personal stand and beliefs. Just being the person she is and expecting her dream guy to fall in love with her pros and cons - that's the beauty of her character. Most of all, I love the confidence that is being instilled into the character. It is that very confidence that made me look at Karena in a different way in this film - she suddenly became a very breautiful girl in my eyes.

Also starring in this film are Eric Tsang, Bobo Chan, Hu Bing, Nicola Cheung, Derek Tsang and Chin Kar Lok. Yup, lots of popular actors and actresses in this film. No wonder I watched it till the end while my sister slept beside me. I guess it's the main characters that I fell in love with that kept me watching until the very end. I want to be like Jill in the film - just as confidence, dynamic and beautiful.

Oh, by the way, keep a look out for Fluffy, the imaginary dog in the film. He is quite significant.
