Perfect Stranger
I am not a fan of Halle Berry but she sure chose to played a very dynamic character in latest thriller Perfect Stranger. Perhaps, just perhaps, I do like her in this character. A little seductive, in control, confident, professional and mysterious at the same time. The scriptwriter sure did a good job in crafting character Rowena Price (starred by Halle Berry).
This 110 minutes film is worth watching for some, but not for all. When I saw the trailer on youtube, I wasn't interested in this film at all. I thought it was just another investigative action movie and the murderer is predictable. However, all that changed as I sat through scene after scene. There's a mystery behind the plot which the trailers did not captured. And that's when the story became interesting for me.
Rowena Price is a sought-after journalist who writes powerful article that make the public craves for more. Her writings are published using a pseudonym name reflecting on her being a male journalist. After a rough night, she bumped into an old friend who insisted that she writes an article on powerful advertising icon, Harrison Hill (starred by Bruce Willis). Her friend died a couple of days after and the investigation begins.
There's an unexpected twist to the ending, so I am not going to reveal that bit. All I can say is be prepared to be surprised by the twist and turns of the plots. It's interesting to watch how the story develops from one person to another and ends up on the first person again.
And Halle Berry sure is worth watching in this film. She should play more of this type of character because she pulls it off so well.
